While Presto Wires provides a visual environment for rapid mashup creation, Presto Studio is designed for the sophisticated developer. Studio gives Java programmers complete control to design, test, debug and deploy mashups, all as a plug-in into the Eclipse integrated development environment.
Presto's server-side approach is unique in a field dominated by UI-based mashup tools. The robustness of Presto's platform provides unmatched performance, security and governance, which becomes increasingly important as mashups increasingly used for business-critical applications.
But Presto's unique value is limited if developers cannot directly access its robustness. Enter Studio.

Presto Studio brings the power of Presto into the environment where developers spend their time, marrying the efficiency of Presto's mashup tools and language with the full power of the Eclipse integrated development environment. Studio provides both Java and mashup perspectives, manage mashup projects and services, debug mashups, and directly edit underlying EMML.
Studio can be used to create mashups from scratch, or to take mashups created by power users in Wires and ensure they are ready to deploy.
