presto-meta - parameter explanations in help

Hi mashers,

Can anyone tell me how the parameter explanations are displayed in Wires when you have defined them for a custom action?

I've coded a section in a macro using the <presto-meta name="help"> and created a <parameters> section, but I can't find a way to display the text defined for a specific input variable. The  help <description> text displays fine when you mouseover the action in the Wires navigation panel but nothing for the parameters.

Cheers, Innes

Well, it's supposed to be a tooltip when you hover over the parameter in the properties pane. If it is not showing up, this is a bug.

If it is a bug, can you zip up your macro and post here?

Hi Sara,

Attached is a copy of the macro emml (that is loaded in my local macro library).  The general macro description displays when you mouseover the action name, but I've tried mousing over the parameter display in the Properties Pane on the righthand side in Wires and can't get a tooltip displayed for the outDateFormat presto-meta parameter definition.

If you need anything else, please let me know.

Cheers, Innes

Thanks Innes. It isn't working for me either, although there is nothing wrong with your EMML. It may take a day or two to confirm whether this is a bug in the software or an error in documentation.

Well, the answer unfortunately is that this is a documentation error. This was planned, but didn't get done and I missed it in the docs.

I have put in a request to implement this feature, but for now, Innes, there is no way to provide user hints for custom action properties.

Thanks Sara,

That's a shame because I think it would be a really valuable feature to have in Wires, especially for non-technical users who might not understand what parameters in custom macros are for.

I'll look forward to seeing it in the next version :)
