We're Thinking Its Time For a CHALLENGE!
As a part of the "Contributor's Corner" we have introduced our Member of the Month and our Mashup of the Month, both outstanding attributions to how committed our community members are to changing the course of enterprise development. And like most successes, they all started with a good IDEA. Share your mashup inspiration with us, we might just put your idea into motion.
Idea of the Month, February

Recently Innes Fisher (our Member of the Month) published a blog titled, '37 Mashups- The Challenge'. I was immediately intrigued, who doesn't like a good challenge. Innes challenged himself to create at least 1 usable mashup that fits with each one of the 34 suggested patterns Mike Ogrinz describes in his book, 'Mashup Patterns - Designs and Examples for the Modern Enterprise'. Innes admits some of the patterns could require research but none the less he quickly proves out two patterns to jump start his personal challenge.
Which got me thinking, what if we all joined in on the challenge? What if we held a community wide 'Mashup Patterns Challenge' where collectively as a community we all contribute to the challenge. Everyone can contribute with no limit to how much or how many patterns. All participation is rewarded with prizes and the member who proves the most patterns wins the grand prize. Wait it gets better, I've already chatted with Mike and he's agreed to be the judge. He said he would even be willing to contribute a few mashups himself.
What do you think? Would anyone be interested in a 'Mashup Patterns Community Challenge'??

Hi Jess,
What an awesome idea. I think we could produce, as a Community, a fantastic showcase of real-world mashups based around Mike's patterns. I'm more than happy to add all my mashups to the collective contribution, so count me.
Cheers, Innes
